What is the NDIS?

About 4.3 million Australians live with a disability, representing roughly 1 in 6 people and highlighting the significant presence of disability within the community. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) operates with an annual budget of approximately $50 billion, which continues to grow each year. Currently, around 760,000 Australians with permanent and significant disabilities are supported by the scheme. This initiative marks a crucial milestone, providing many individuals with access to essential support services for the first time and having a profoundly positive impact on their lives.
